Debashis Sen joined the IAS in 1985. He was Chairman of HIDCO for a decade and of New Town Kolkata for more than a decade, where he was deeply involved in developing New Town from scratch into a Platinum-rated Green Smart City. His book, “To the Singapore of Kolkata,” will be published soon

He has been an Additional Chief Secretary in the Urban Development  and Information Technology Department for several years. As Chief Electoral Officer, he was responsible for conducting General Elections to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly (2006) and Parliamentary Elections in the state (2009). He was the District Magistrate for five years in the districts of Birbhum and Burdwan.

An alumni of Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics and ENA, France, he is now the Founder and CEO of NBC Ltd. He is a pioneer in AI Art on Canvas and has hold several exhibitions.

Now Debashis Sen is Chairman of Sahaj Retail Ltd., Advisor (Real Estate) to Peerless Group, Member Governing Body of ADAMAS University, Chairman of Managing Committee of Ramakrishna Mission Centre for Human Excellence and Social Sciences (Viveka Tirtha), Member of Managing Committee of Sister Nivedita Heritage Museum and Knowledge Centre, President of Aamar Bidhannagar and President of Salt Lake CE Block Welfare Association and an Artist.
